What is a Pie-cut setting?
The setting where some smaller, fancy cut diamonds are carefully cut and matched to shape together to give an illusion of a larger, fancy diamond shape. In short, different pieces are cut and joined together to make a diamond look bigger. As shown in the picture below.

The advantage of this kind of diamond is that it looks much bigger than its suggested weight. For example, if you buy 1 carat of a round-shape diamond in a pie cut, then, for example, you can get it for around 70,000 bucks, but when you buy it in a single 1 carat round shape diamond, you have to pay more than 3,00,000 bucks.
Disadvantages of having Pie-Cut diamonds
There are some disadvantages to these kinds of settings, like:
- If any of the pieces from the pie-cut diamond are lost, then it is very difficult to find the same size of the piece.
- The resale value of the pie-cut diamond is much lower than compared of the single diamond piece.
Different Pie cut diamond Shapes:
1. Round:
As there are 2 options available for the Round shape diamond setting: one with the 4 pieces and the other with the 9 pieces. As mentioned in the images below.
